BurgerBlog #4 in the Pourhouse Restaurant
Welcome to my 4th BurgerBlog.
This time I choose a fancy restaurant in Gastown.
I assumed that a restaurant that serves a $17 burger must be great.
The name of the restaurant I went to is " The Pourhouse" in Gastown.
It's not a burger restaurant but with the great experience I had with La Brasserie which is also not a burger restaurant I decided to give it a try.
"The Pourhouse" is located at 162 water street in Vancouver.
You can hit their website for more information and their menu http://www.pourhousevancouver.com/.
The atmosphere inside was pretty cool with old french music in the background.
The bar was full with people drinking and having great conversations.
The waitress asked how I wanted my hamburger done and I went with medium well as I personally like it this way.
After about 8 minutes as I noted on my second burger blog my hamburger arrived.
The $17 dish will came with a brown bag full of fries attached to it.
The burger came with a dash of mayo and the choice of a little cheese.
I personally would have added a few more ingredients to the hamburger but I wanted to go with the restaurant's dish with out any changes.
The hamburger was 5 ouches of brisket and chuck meat.
The meat was so flavourful that I could not put my finger on which part I liked more, the brisket or the chuck.
The bun was cooked well and the meat was cooked even better.
On an overall scale this was more of a culinary experience burger than a search for a perfect burger.
I found the meat to be so tasty that I would have had it all over again with or without the bun.
As some of my reader requested in my previous posts I will be starting a rating system from now on.
The Pourhouse burger gets 8 starts out of 10.
I will defiantly go back to the Pourhouse and try to add to a few more ingredients if the cook allows me.
Thanks for reading.
