Welcome to my newest burger blog.

This burger experience is a place I passed several times but never thought of going in until I started reading many reviews online raving about it.

The name of today's BurgerBlog establishment is Stackhouse Burger Bar located on 1224 Granville St.

For this burger blog I had the pleasure of having my friend Alex join me.   Right off the bat Alex explained that he is not a food critic, I told Alex that food critics are not allowed on my blog, only people that can appreciate a good hamburger.

Alex was relieved.

I have never considered my self to be a food critic.  The main idea of this blog was to share my love of hamburgers while helping others find their dream hamburger ( if something like this even exists ).

The decor of the place is very cool. I did some research and found out that the same guy who designed meat & bread in Gastown was involved in designing Stackhouse burger bar.

Alex and I met for lunch unknowingly that there were some great lunch deals being served.   We went for the Stackhouse burger with fries which was only $10 as their lunch special and with their highly reviewed Kobe burger which has a whopping price tag of $21.

We split both hamburgers in half so we could appreciate the difference.

The Stackhouse burger is a 6.5 oz local prime rib patty with pancetta, portabellini, Guinness cheddar, chipotle aioli and butter lettuce served on a brioche bun.

 

For $10 this has been the best deal in town for a high end burger thus far, the combination of great beef, fluffy bun the chipotle aioli and the nice funny sounding kind of mushroom was fantastic.

I enjoyed every bite of that hamburger.

While indulging on my half hamburger I noticed that Alex stopped talking, I thought that he ran out of topics to chat about but when I saw the look on his face after his half of the Kobi burger disappeared I understood.

Alex had heard about my burger blog and read a few of them, he had asked me what can be so special about a hamburger?

I think he got the answer to his question after he had the Kobe burger.

The Kobi burger is 6.5 oz Kobe beef patty with Guinness cheddar, caramelized onions, truffle aioli and butter lettuce served on a brioche bun.

It's what we call the Ferrari of hamburgers.

 

The meat was cooked to perfection and every bite tasted like a little piece of heaven.

That being said I personally think that the $21 price tag for a hamburger is still a bit steep even for the Ferrari of hamburgers but if you want to try it, then I highly recommend you take that burger for a test drive.

I give the Stackhouse 9 out of 10 stars as one of the best hamburger shacks in the city.
